The Michi S5 is a dual-monoblock stereo power amplifier delivering 500 watts per channel into 8 ohms and over 800 watts per channel into 4 ohms. Each channel draws from its own custom-engineered, oversized, in-house manufactured 2,200 VA toroidal transformer, feeding a total of 188,000 microfarads of bulk storage capacitance split across four British-made capacitor banks.
Thirty-two high-current output transistors and a damping factor of 350 give the S5 the reserve current and control needed for large, demanding loudspeakers. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs are provided, and the elegant aluminium chassis carries a front-panel display consistent with the rest of the Michi range.
