The Hegel H30A is Hegel's reference power amplifier, nicknamed The Orchestra. In mono mode it delivers over 1,100 watts into 8 ohms and is completely stable into 1 ohm loads. In stereo mode, each channel receives its own independent dual mono power path. It is sold as a single unit. A stereo system requires two units. ProHiFi is an authorised Hegel dealer in India.
The power supply uses two separate 1,000 VA toroidal transformers and 270,000 microfarads of capacitance per unit. The output stage uses 56 high-speed, ultra-low distortion 15A/200W bipolar transistors. In the input stage, single-pair hand-matched FET transistors eliminate higher-order harmonic distortion by ensuring exact value matching, so that distortion products cancel each other out by design. SoundEngine2 then actively monitors the music signal and corrects for any remaining distortion in real time using a feedforward design.
Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs are provided, along with a 12V trigger input for system integration. Gold-plated speaker binding posts are used throughout. The chassis measures 24 x 43 x 57.5cm and weighs 47.4kg per unit, reflecting the scale of the power supply and output stage engineering inside.
SoundStage Hi-Fi concluded they could not find anything about the H30A that was even remotely unsatisfactory, and it hits all of their musts, wants, and needs. The Absolute Sound praised its combination with the P30A as exemplary, noting its effortless authority and musical transparency. Hi-Fi News, HiFi+, Stereo Sound Japan, Soundnews, and Stereopluss have all reviewed the H30A and P30A combination, reaching the same conclusion: at this level, the H30A competes with the very best reference amplifiers in the world.

Why Consider the Hegel H30A
The H30A is the right choice for listeners who want Hegel's reference amplifier technology without compromise. The 1,100 watts into 8 ohms and 1 ohm stability mean that no loudspeaker on the market presents a load that challenges it. The hand-matched FET input stage and SoundEngine2 correction together eliminate virtually all measurable distortion, and the result is what SoundStage Hi-Fi described as an amplifier that hits all musts, wants, and needs with nothing they could find remotely unsatisfactory. Paired with the P30A preamplifier, it forms the most complete expression of Hegel's engineering philosophy available. At 47.4kg per unit, the H30A demands a serious commitment, but for listeners who are ready for it, it delivers a level of musical authority, bass control, and tonal neutrality that The Absolute Sound described as exemplary.
Ideal for
- Reference two-channel systems requiring the ultimate Hegel power amplifier
- Speakers with 1 ohm impedance dips where amplifier stability is critical
- Listeners pairing with the Hegel P30A preamplifier as the reference Hegel separates system
- Mono configurations requiring 1,100W from a single channel into 8 ohms
- Stereo bi-amplification using two H30A units for maximum channel separation
