Total harmonic distortion is held below 0.002% and the line-level signal to noise ratio reaches 110 dB, which is the level of performance required if a preamplifier is to add nothing audible between source and power amplifier.
Connectivity is unusually broad for a dedicated preamplifier. Alongside XLR and RCA analogue inputs and outputs, the P430 carries coaxial and optical digital inputs, HDMI ARC for television audio, PC-USB with DSD support, aptX HD and AAC Bluetooth, and a moving magnet phono stage. Conversion is handled by an ESS SABRE ES9028PRO 8-channel DAC with advanced clocking for low jitter.

Separating the preamplifier from the power amplifier gives each its own power supply and physical isolation, which is the main reason high-end systems move away from integrated designs.
