At the heart of the subwoofer is a newly developed 13-inch high-excursion SVS driver designed for deep extension, strong transient response, and tonal accuracy. The driver uses a flat-edge split-wind voice coil, a premium aluminum 2-inch former, and two large toroidal Y30 ferrite magnets, all aimed at preserving control and efficiency under heavy excursion.
Powering it is the SVS STA-1200D2 MOSFET amplifier, conservatively rated at 1,200 watts continuous and 4,000+ watts peak. SVS states that the amplifier combines the efficiency of Class D operation with fully discrete MOSFET output, alongside a high-efficiency switch-mode power supply and a 295MHz Analog Devices DSP with 56-bit filtering for greater headroom, lower noise, and precise bass control.
