The Stage 250B is the largest bookshelf model in JBL's Stage 2 Series, designed and engineered at Harman's Northridge acoustic centre in California and supplied as a pair. It is a two-way design with a 5.25 inch polycellulose ribbed cone woofer and a 1 inch anodised aluminium dome tweeter loaded into JBL's next generation HDI waveguide. The ribbed cone is a nod to classic JBL designs and does real work, adding rigidity so the woofer stays clean while still delivering the low end the brand is known for.
These are versatile speakers rather than single-purpose ones. They are big enough to serve as the main speakers in a compact stereo system, yet they also make excellent surrounds in a larger home theatre built from the Stage 2 range. The HDI waveguide keeps the treble even across a wide listening area, the rear-firing flared port is shaped to avoid port noise, and the cabinet carries the same premium touches as the rest of the line, including magnetically attached grilles, a floating front baffle and anti-slip pads to hold each speaker steady on a shelf or stand.
This product is covered by the manufacturer's warranty through JBL's authorised distributor in India. [VERIFY: confirm exact warranty term for JBL Stage 250B under Harman India before publish.]
A good pair of bookshelf speakers is the most flexible thing you can buy in hi-fi, and the 250B leans into that. In a small or medium room it works as the main system on stands or a shelf, giving you proper JBL bass from a 5.25 inch driver without the floor space a tower needs. In a bigger setup it slots in as surrounds alongside the Stage 260F or 280F towers and a matching centre, keeping the tonal character consistent all the way around the room, which is what makes a home theatre sound seamless. The HDI waveguide is the reason it holds up off-axis, so it does not fall apart when you are not sitting exactly between the two speakers.
