JBL Stage 280F 2.5-Way Dual 8-inch Floorstanding Speaker

The JBL Stage 280F is the flagship floorstanding model in the Stage 2 series, designed and engineered at Harman's Acoustic Engineering Center of Excellence in Northridge, California. It runs a 2.5-way configuration built around dual 8-inch Polycellulose ribbed cone woofers and a 1-inch anodised aluminium dome tweeter mounted in JBL's next generation High-Definition Imaging waveguide. Frequency response reaches down to 33Hz and sensitivity sits at 91dB, so the speaker plays loud and low without needing a large amplifier behind it.

The 2.5-way crossover is what separates the 280F from a conventional two-way tower. The upper woofer is crossed over just below the tweeter's output at 2.1kHz while the lower woofer rolls off earlier at 1.1kHz, which keeps the midrange clean and focused while both drivers continue working together in the bass. Dual flared racetrack ports fire from the rear, and a dedicated set of Atmos binding posts at the top and bottom of the cabinet lets you run a Stage 240H height module with the cable hidden inside the speaker. The 280F is sold individually, so a stereo pair requires two units.
