KEF R11 Meta Floorstanding Speaker (PAIR)

The KEF R11 Meta is the flagship floorstanding speaker in KEF's R Series, and the most capable passive loudspeaker the R line offers. A true three-way design, it combines KEF's 12th generation Uni-Q driver array fitted with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) with four 165mm (6.5 in.) hybrid aluminium bass drivers in a bass reflex cabinet. The result is a speaker capable of a frequency range from 30Hz to 50kHz, a maximum output of 113dB, and an in-room bass extension of 26Hz that few floorstanders at any price can approach. Available in Black Gloss, White Gloss, and Walnut, the R11 Meta is built for both dedicated listening rooms and high-performance home cinema systems.

The engineering heritage of the R11 Meta runs directly from KEF's flagship Reference Series. MAT, developed in collaboration with the Acoustic Research Centre at the University of Salford, uses a complex labyrinthine structure behind the tweeter to absorb 99% of unwanted rear-firing sound from the dome, eliminating the resonances and coloration that conventional tweeter designs cannot avoid. The 12th generation Uni-Q places the 25mm aluminium dome tweeter at the acoustic centre of the 125mm midrange cone, so the two drivers behave as a single point source across the crossover region. This widens the listening sweet spot and ensures the sound disperses evenly through the room rather than narrowing toward the primary listening axis. Four hybrid aluminium bass drivers, each with extended excursion capability, handle the low frequencies with the control and precision that a large cabinet demands.
