KEF R2c Meta Compact Centre Channel Speaker, Uni-Q MAT, LCR

The KEF R2c Meta is the compact centre channel speaker in KEF's R Series, designed to pair with R5 Meta floorstanders or R3 Meta bookshelf speakers where the larger R6 Meta would be too wide for the installation. Like all R Series Meta models, it is a three-way design: a 12th generation Uni-Q driver array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) handles mids and highs, while two 130mm (5.25 in.) hybrid aluminium bass drivers manage the low end in a closed-box enclosure. Sold as a single unit, the R2 Meta is LCR compatible and available in Black Gloss, White Gloss, and Walnut.

The design rationale for the R2 Meta is tonal consistency above all else. By using the same 125mm midrange cone and 25mm vented aluminium dome with MAT as the rest of the R Series, it reproduces dialogue, effects, and music with the same tonal character as the front left and right speakers in the system. MAT absorbs 99% of rear-firing sound from the tweeter so colouration is minimised from the start, and the closed-box cabinet controls bass cleanly without port turbulence in the critical midrange. At 175mm high and 550mm wide, it fits below or above displays where the R6 Meta would not, making it the practical centre channel choice for R Series systems built around compact speakers.
