The Parasound Halo A 52+ is a five-channel power amplifier designed by John Curl, delivering 180 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 255 watts into 4 ohms with all five channels driven simultaneously. It sits between the A 23+ stereo and A 51 five-channel amplifiers in the Parasound Halo lineup.
The A 52+ uses a high-bias Class A/AB topology with a direct-coupled signal path containing no capacitors or inductors. Each channel is built as a separate module with its own independent power supply winding from the custom toroidal transformer. Peak current capacity is 45 amps per channel, and the damping factor exceeds 1100 at 20Hz. ProHiFi is an authorised Parasound dealer in India.
Balanced XLR and gold-plated RCA inputs are provided for all five channels, with 12V trigger or audio-signal sensing for automatic turn-on. The 3U chassis includes rear carry handles and is rack-mountable with optional adaptors. A black anodised extruded front panel with solid aluminium end caps provides a clean, professional appearance.
Stereophile's Kalman Rubinson concluded he really liked the A 52+ in every way, praising its consistent soundstage with no blurring of individual voices or instrumental details. Sound and Vision described it as a versatile performer delivering clean power with ample headroom for both movies and music. Enjoy the Music noted it never gave ground to even the most demanding electrostatic speakers.

Why Consider the Parasound Halo A 52+
The A 52+ is the right choice for home cinema enthusiasts who want John Curl-designed multichannel amplification at a more accessible price than the A 51. With 180 watts per channel across all five channels driven simultaneously, it provides genuine headroom for demanding surround setups. Stereophile confirmed its consistent, unblurred soundstage, and Enjoy the Music demonstrated it could drive power-hungry electrostatic speakers without flinching. The separate channel modules and independent power supply windings give it a level of channel isolation and current delivery that integrated AV receiver amplification cannot match. For an Indian audiophile upgrading from AVR-powered speakers to dedicated amplification, the A 52+ is the most practical entry into Parasound's multichannel range.
Ideal for
- Home cinema systems needing five channels of dedicated amplification
- Listeners upgrading from AVR-powered speakers to separate amplification
- Surround processors and AV receivers with five-channel pre-outs
- Systems where the A 51 is more power than needed but AVR amplification is not enough
- Demanding speaker loads requiring 45A peak current and 255W into 4 ohms per channel
- Rack-mounted installations requiring a 3U chassis with carry handles
