Country of Origin:
The M16 is a true full range 2-way 6.5” bookshelf that features a small footprint and elegant design. It will deliver an impressive combination of wide frequency range, uncompressed dynamic range and low distortion across the entire audible spectrum.
High frequency response is supported by 1 inch aluminum dome tweeters that were derived from Revel’s Performa3 series. Low/Mid range frequency response is supported by 6.5” Aluminum cone woofers featuring low-distortion motor-structures for greater clarity and accuracy with improved sensitivity and output capability.
The patented wave guide design improves tweeter to woofer blend and significantly improves off-axis response for consistent performance over a wide listening area. In doing this we sacrificed no details by making sure no fasteners were visible allowing the speaker to show enhancing smooth lines of the cabinet and magnetically attached grilles. To finish the enclosure, we selected high gloss black and white finishes to highlight the features of this beautiful speaker.

Video Review:
A speaker that lets the music speak for itself The sound qualities you expect from Revel — clarity, accuracy, and uncompressed dynamics — are all right here. The M16's big sound belies its small size. And it can pull off a convincing disappearing act — it's difficult to pinpoint where the sound is coming from. This seamless, spacious soundstage gives a realistic sense of presence to both music and movie soundtracks.
Custom-designed drivers reduce bad vibrations Revel designs and builds every driver that goes into their speakers. The M16's 6-1/2" woofer uses an aluminum cone that's coated on both sides with a micro-ceramic composite compound. This stiffens the cone to help it move in a more piston-like fashion, and also reduces resonances that can color the sound.
The M16's 1" aluminum dome tweeter sits in Revel's concave Acoustic Lens waveguide, which increases the tweeter's dispersion at higher frequencies, and also helps create a more seamless match between the tweeter and the woofer just below it. The result is very smooth, consistent sound both on-axis and off-axis, creating a larger sweet spot.
An advanced cabinet forms a solid foundation The Concerta2 cabinet isn't quite as sophisticated as those on Revel's pricier Performa3 models, but its design and execution are more advanced than you typically find in this price range. The curved side walls create a stiff enclosure that forms a solid foundation for Revel's custom-designed drivers, as well as contributing to the M16's sleek looks.
The M16's grille attaches magnetically, so there's no ugly hardware on the front baffle of the speaker if you decide to leave the grille off.
Tested by instrument and by ear Revel's world-class speaker design and testing facility features an anechoic chamber and the latest high-tech measurement gear. But some of their most critical test instruments are the ears of their trained listening panel. When working on a new design, Revel's engineers set up a series of controlled auditions comparing their design to several competing speakers.
Speakers under comparison sit on a rotating platform, and each model is moved into the identical position by a computer-controlled belt drive system. An acoustically transparent screen hides the speakers from the listeners to avoid visual bias. These double-blind listening tests provide an essential reality check, and help the engineers correlate measurements with what listeners actually hear and prefer.
