The Michi X5 Series 2 is a Class AB integrated amplifier rated at 350 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 600 watts per channel into 4 ohms. Its linear power supply is built around two large in-house manufactured, shielded, low-noise toroidal transformers, one per channel, which is why the amplifier weighs 43.8 kg and why it holds its output when the load impedance halves.
An ESS SABRE 32-bit 8-channel DAC handles conversion for the coaxial, optical and PC-USB inputs, the latter supporting PCM to 32-bit/384 kHz, Quad DSD at 11.2 MHz and full MQA hardware decoding. Analogue inputs cover RCA and balanced XLR, and the onboard phono stage is switchable between moving magnet and moving coil. A damping factor of 350 gives the output stage authority over difficult loudspeakers.

The X5 Series 2 exists for systems that would otherwise need a preamplifier, a large power amplifier, a DAC and a phono stage.
